I've really spent a lot of years not doing resolutions at all, since one of my biggest flaws is that I want instant results with everything I do (like, I go to the gym to improve my strength, and two months later despite obvious progress, my Idiot Traitor Subconscious goes "you couldn't wrestle a bear into submission yet, not good enough!!"). But I figure if I make my resolutions things I already wanted to do, I might have a better shot at it.
1) finish more projects that I start
This one's pretty self explanatory. I love my artsy craftsy nonsense but I'm easily distracted enough that right now projects I start and projects I finish are to very different numbers. I don't want to impose strict deadlines, but I'll say I want three or four of them finished up by April.
2) take better care of this meatsack my brain is piloting
I know basically everyone makes this their resolution, but I'm serious. I need to get back in the regular gym-going habit, that was one of the best stress management things I've done in literally a decade or so. And I need to go to a doctor for a regular check up for the first time in about 8 years. And I want to see about getting a new glasses prescription because I know damn well mine are more outdated than they should be. And if I can get my diet a little more in line with how it was in college, instead of the habits I fell into at a job where I spent most of the year living out of hotels, that would be great...
