When and more importantly, why did I ever get brown lipstick?

My only feasible guess right now is that at some point when I bought it I mistook it for some kind of plum, because I do have a decent bundle of those even if I still need to master the art of applying it without looking outright clownish. _{As much as I might joke about paying homage to my ancestry, that's not how I mean it.}

But seriously. I have brown lipstick. I'm a very pale human person who does not do earthy/neutral shades basically ever, so it's not even like I have outfits I could coordinate that with. Even the green clothes I have would clash. But of course it's actually pretty nice lipstick so I can't bring myself to get rid of it in any way.

Hmm... would it work as a base for some lighter/brighter/sparklier gloss?

Maybe? But I'd have to do something Really Ostentatious to be comfortable with that, I think, and I don't have a huge selection as far as lip glosses go at the moment. Plus it's a weird shade of brown - taking a closer look at it, I absolutely can see how I mistook it for a plum at some point.

Maybe I should just do an aggressively 90s throwback look and see how that goes...
