I'm a little peeved at my neighbors right now, because people don't seem to understand that when there is one washing machine and one dryer for the building, it is Very not cool to leave your laundry in either for multiple days.

I especially don't care for having the minor "figure out what I can wear to work without freezing or wearing dirty clothes" stress piled on top of general stuff that needs to be done stress, personal life stress, and (let's be real, I live in the USA) maaaaassive financial stress.

(Fun fact: I still haven't had the balls to ask for a raise and I'm honestly not sure how I'm going to make rent this month. Yaaaaay.)

After work update: the washing machine was empty when I got home. If the dryer fails to be empty by the time my cycle's done, its contents are going in the Spider Corner of the basement shelf, and whoever owns the clothes will have to make peace with that. Because I am an asshole.

Yikes, sorry you're having to deal with that :\ I remember in the college laundries if you left your stuff in there too long and there were no others available you were fair game to have your laundry turfed out willy nilly, but I suppose that ain't the thing outside c"haos box"ollege.

Shit that sucks. We always just dumped people's stuff into a special "fuck you" basket I got for when folks left their stuff in too long. It's really frustrating, but honestly, it's also the kind of rude you're fully entitled to deal with mildly passive aggressively.

The worse thing is I'm 90% sure it's not the neighbors I'm on pretty good terms with, so I can't just text them like "[Name!] Clothes!"

If they're still there when I get back from work I might blow a lid though.

You should definitely just remove then, put them in a garbage bag, label it if you're feeling generous, and leave them by the machines. Let them deal with the mess.
