...Would buying owl pellets be a decent way of getting small animal bones? It's easy to get them with how often they're dissected in classrooms, and I could think of several projects where rodent/bird/whatever bones could be useful. I'm not sure where that would stand on the legality of reselling things using the bones, though...

I would imagine that there ~are~ retailers for fully treated small animal bones. I would expect that the big issue with just using ones you find in owl pellets is having to sterilize and treat them yourself?
